Week 6 Final Follow-Up
Assignment & Assessment
Dear Couples,
Thank you for joining us for Week 6, our final session of the We Still Do marriage journey!
Over these six weeks, we have intentionally focused on Renewing Our Covenant, Rebuilding Our Connection, and Rediscovering Our Celebration. We pray that this journey has strengthened your relationship, opened new conversations, challenged unhealthy patterns, and reminded you of the value of intentionally choosing one another.
Our Week 6 lesson, “I’m Committed to the Covenant I Made!” brought us back to the foundation of marriage: covenant.
Jesus reminds us:
“What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder.”
— Matthew 19:6, KJV
Marriage is more than a ceremony, a romantic relationship, or a legal agreement. Marriage is a sacred covenant built on commitment, sacrifice, loyalty, faithfulness, partnership, and purpose.
As we conclude our six-week experience, please complete the following Week 6 assignments.
Week 6 Assessment
Attendance credit is required.
To receive credit for attending Week 6, each individual must complete the Week 6 Assessment using the link below.
Both partners must complete the assessment individually.

Week 6 Covenant Conversation
Set aside at least 30 uninterrupted minutes this week. Turn off the television, silence your phones, and intentionally focus on each other.
Begin your time together by reading Matthew 19:6: “What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder.”
Then take turns discussing the following questions.
Part 1 – What Covenant Means to Us
- What does covenant mean to you personally?
- How has your understanding of commitment changed or grown during this six-week journey?
- What does choosing “us” over “me” look like in our relationship?
- What do you believe we need to protect our relationship from in this next season?
- What is one area where you feel we have grown stronger during the We Still Do journey?
Part 2 – Commitment Is Love in Action
The Week 6 lesson reminded us that commitment is not merely something we say. Commitment is love demonstrated consistently through our actions.
Discuss:
- What actions from me make you feel secure, loved, and committed to?
- What is one action I could practice more consistently that would strengthen our relationship?
- When life becomes difficult, what kind of support do you need most from me?
- What does prioritizing our relationship look like in our current season?
- How can we continue pursuing one another even when life becomes busy?
Covenant vs. Contract Activity
Discuss the difference between these two approaches.
A Contract Says:
“What am I getting?”
“If you do your part, I will do mine.”
“I am committed as long as the conditions work for me.”
|
Covenant Says:
“How can we grow together?”
“How can we protect what God joined together?”
“What can I contribute to the relationship?”
“How can we remain faithful through every season?”
|
We want our relationship to reflect covenant by:
Our Vow Reflection
Ecclesiastes 5:4 reminds us of the seriousness of promises made before God.
“When thou vowest a vow unto God, defer not to pay it…”
Marriage vows were not simply words spoken during a ceremony. They are promises to be demonstrated throughout the relationship.
Take turns completing the following.
What I Admire About You One quality I deeply admire about you is:
What We Have Survived One difficult season we have already made it through together is:
What did that season teach us about our relationship?
How You Have Changed My Life One way being in relationship with you has changed my life is:
What I Still Hope to Build With You Something I still dream of building, experiencing, or accomplishing with you is:
Our Connection Check
Commitment is not merely staying together physically. Commitment also means making a conscious effort to stay connected.
Discuss each area.
Emotional Connection Do we regularly talk about what we are feeling, carrying, worrying about, and hoping for?
One way we can strengthen our emotional connection is:
Spiritual Connection Do we pray, seek God, discuss our faith, and encourage each other spiritually?
One way we can strengthen our spiritual connection is:
Mental Connection Do we continue learning about each other’s ideas, thoughts, goals, plans, and perspectives?
One way we can strengthen our mental connection is:
Relational Connection Do we still enjoy friendship, companionship, laughter, teamwork, and quality time together?
One way we can strengthen our relational connection is:
Protecting Our Covenant
Review the following behaviors that can damage commitment:
- Emotional neglect
- Dishonesty
- Unfaithfulness
- Lack of communication
- Constant criticism
- Selfishness
- Abandoning emotional responsibility
- Taking one another for granted
Which area do we need to guard against most intentionally?
What boundary or habit can we establish to protect our relationship?
How will we lovingly hold one another accountable?
Healthy Covenant Habits
Choose at least three habits you commit to continuing after the six-week class.
- Praying together

- Speaking encouraging words

Our “We Still Do” Marriage Vision
Strong relationships are not built accidentally. They are built intentionally over time.
Discuss and complete the following together.
The Kind of Relationship We Want to Build
Spiritually, We Want to Become:
Emotionally, We Want to Become:
As Partners, We Want to Become:
One Goal We Want to Accomplish Together:
One Area We Want God to Help Us Strengthen:
Couple Reflection
As you reflect on the entire six-week experience, discuss:
- What lesson impacted you the most?
- What did you learn about yourself?
- What did you learn about your partner?
- What conversation during these six weeks helped you understand your partner better?
- What unhealthy pattern are you committed to leaving behind?
- What healthy habit are you committed to continuing?
- What does “We Still Do” mean to you now?
Final Week Challenge — Practice the Covenant
For the next seven days, intentionally demonstrate commitment through action.
Day 1 — Choose Us
Do something that communicates: “Our relationship is a priority to me.”
Day 2 — Encourage
Tell your partner something you admire, respect, or appreciate about them.
Day 3 — Connect
Spend at least 20 uninterrupted minutes talking without phones, television, or other distractions.
Day 4 — Pray
Pray together specifically for your covenant, your future, and the areas where you still need God’s help.
Day 5 — Serve
Do something thoughtful that reduces your partner’s burden without being asked.
Day 6 — Pursue
Plan or initiate something that reminds your partner: “I still enjoy you. I still want to know you. I still choose you.”
Day 7 — Remember Your Vows
Talk about the promises you made—or the promises you desire to make—to one another.
What does living out those promises look like in this season of our relationship?
Final We Still Do Covenant
Before closing your time together, hold hands and read this covenant aloud:
Today, we reaffirm that our relationship is more than a feeling, more than a season, and more than a ceremony.
We choose covenant. We choose commitment. We choose unity.
We choose to protect what God is building between us.
We commit to communicate honestly, forgive graciously, love intentionally, support one another faithfully, and remain connected emotionally, spiritually, mentally, and relationally.
We will not allow busyness, selfishness, poor communication, unresolved conflict, outside interference, or neglect to quietly divide what we are committed to building together.
When feelings fluctuate, we will remember our commitment.
When circumstances change, we will choose partnership.
When difficult seasons come, we will face them together.
When one of us becomes weak, we will help carry the burden.
We will continue to pursue one another.
We will continue to pray together.
We will continue to grow together.
We will continue to heal together.
We will continue to build together.
We still honor our covenant.
We still believe in our future.
We still choose one another.
We are committed to the covenant we have made.
And together, we boldly declare...
WE STILL DO!
Share the Journey
Although our six-week class is concluding, the journey of building strong relationships continues.
One of the greatest gifts you can give another couple is the opportunity to strengthen their relationship. Continue sharing what you have learned and encouraging married, engaged, and seriously dating couples to intentionally invest in their relationship.
Marriage Ambassador Challenge
If you invited another couple who:
- Registered for the course

- Successfully completed the program
You will receive one entry into our Marriage Ambassador Grand Prize Drawing for each couple that successfully completed the program!
GRAND PRIZE One-night hotel stay with dinner
Thank you for committing six weeks to intentionally investing in your relationship.
We pray that We Still Do does not simply become the name of a class you completed, but a declaration you continue making through your choices, conversations, prayers, forgiveness, affection, service, sacrifice, and commitment.
Strong relationships are not built by perfect people.
They are built by people who continually choose to grow together through every season.
The class may be ending, but your commitment continues.
You still choose.
You still pursue.
You still forgive.
You still grow.
You still build.
You Still Do.
